Aw, the throes editing. Some days I love it. Same days I hate it, but one thing is for certain. The Last Dreams of Xothra is going to be one hell of a novel.
Regardless of how my debut is received, however, taking a rough draft to a finished product has been a spectacular learning experience. All the writing lessons I’ve learned over the years finally feel like they’re coming together, and for the first time, I’m proud of the world I’ve created. I can’t wait for you to share the journey!
For the next couple months, I will be focusing all my writing energy on the last 20% of the book, and when the second draft is completed, I’ll be putting it front of the firing squad that is the Glasgow Science Fiction Writer’s Circle. One more big round of edits, a polish, and then it’s off to find representation.
While waiting for feedback, I’m excited to have the chance to write a few short stories that have been percolating in the ol’ gray matter, and I’m investing as much time as possible into writing a killer query letter as well as synopsis (any advice on the agent hunt is appreciated).
